Ridley's is based at Acomb, near Hexham in Northumberland and stocks an excellent range of top quality seasonal, fresh fish, seafood, poultry and local wild game.

Recommended by Rick Stein, this family-run concern was established in 1991 and has quickly become known for outstanding quality and service. The business actually dates back to 1914. Ridley's bought the former Murray's Fish & Game on Battehill in Hexham from Ronnie Murray in 1991 and devloped this business into today's Ridley's Fish & Game.

GREAT BRITISH MENU - DAVID RIDLEY SAVES THE DAY WITH LAST MINUTE MACKEREL!

Ridley's Fish and Game supplied the mackerel for the Great British Menu Banquet Fish Course in the presence of HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. Due to inclement weather it was not posssible to catch any Mackerel on the North East coast as planned. However, David Rdiley managed to save the day with line caught mackerel he caught off the coast of Cornwall at the very last minute.
Michelin-starred chef Kenny Atkinson won the place to cook the fish course for the Great British Menu Banquet. Kenny, who won the Hotel Chef of the Year recently, is at Rockliffe Hall, a newly-created luxury hotel, golf and spa development in Hurworth, County Durham, in December 2009. Congratulations, best wishes and thanks to Kenny from all at Ridley's Fish and Game!

A red squirrel in Northumberland - one of the last refuges of the threatened species. Visit the RED SQUIRREL PROTECTION LEAGUE >		"Save a Red - Eat a Grey!" The Red Squirrel is one of the UK's most charming and threatened indigenous animals. The problem is caused by the ever-expanding population of Grey Squirrels who invaded from America. It turns out Grey Squirrels are really delicious to eat. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage programme recently showed how to cook them and how tasty they are. Ridley's Fish & Game venison is local, fully-traceable, fresh, prepared and butchered by ourselves at our unit in Acomb, near Hexham, Northumberland. Our Venison is truly local roe deer from the immediate area. That's why we won a three star gold award last year for our Venison Striploin and hope to follow it up with something this year.
